Country Manager

Procter & Gamble Company is a world leader in production and sales of fast moving consumer goods with almost 180 years history of business success. P&G is a strategic investor to the Ukrainian economy with over $300 Million of investment since 1993.

Ukraine has been and continues to be a strategically important market for Procter & Gamble. In Ukraine, we strive to develop leaders and to also lead the market and industry with leading brands, technology, manufacturing and logistics standards. Procter & Gamble offers consumers in Ukraine one of the strongest portfolios of high quality leadership brands, including Always®, Ariel®, Blend-a-Med®, Fairy®, Gillette®, Head & Shoulders®, Pampers®, Pantene® and Tide®, among others.

There are two P&G manufacturing sites in Boryspil and Pokrov producing consumer products for the Ukrainian and export markets. The Boryspil plant is currently the world’s fourth largest P&G plant producing feminine hygiene products, operating according to cutting-edge production standards. The plant has achieved the highest level of Integrated Work System (IWS), P&G’s innovative system of production optimization based on endeavours to attain zero losses and zero defects.

P&G announced its commitment to achieve zero waste production at all plants by 2020. In 2015, the Boryspil plant reached this milestone ahead of schedule and now it does not bury any of its production waste. 90% of waste is recycled at the plant or with the support of partners for its subsequent use; the other 10% is reused by the plant.

Potential investors should know that Ukraine is open for innovations and advanced global practices. Moreover, the Ukrainian market has great potential and provides interesting opportunities for business.

Here in Ukraine, one of the most inspiring things is working with people: developing talents and strong leaders.

KredoBank, Poland

Kredobank is a universal bank in Ukraine with over 111 branches.

First Vice President of the Management Board, Polish

KredoBank is a universal bank headquartered in Lviv and present across Ukraine with 111 branches. PKO Bank Polski SA, Poland’s largest commercial bank, is a 99.6% shareholder of KredoBank.

We specialize in serving retail clients and small and medium sized enterprises (SME). In our home region of Lviv, we are a market leader across all client segments and we are the leader nationwide in car financing. Although overall conditions for banking in Ukraine are challenging, in the last 3 years we experienced solid business expansion coupled with growing profitability.

PKO Bank Polski SA decided to acquire KredoBank in 2004. Since then, we lived through two economic and market crises of a magnitude unseen elsewhere in Europe so the original reasons for entering Ukraine are less relevant than what is clearly apparent and justifying our presence today – a large, under-developed banking market with SMEs showing a lot of positive dynamics and under-leveraged retail clients.

For those considering doing business in Ukraine, getting lost in process is easy, so it is important to remind oneself about the long-term perspective.

One of my favorite things about being in Ukraine is the small pleasures of socializing.

Winner Group, America / Ukraine

Winner Group is the official representative for Ford, Volvo, Jaguar, Porsche and Bentley in Ukraine.

Head of the Management Board, American

Winner Group Ukraine is the official representative in Ukraine for Ford, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche and Bentley. We are also involved in Leasing, Real Estate, and Construction. Since inception in 1992, we have sold over 110,000 vehicles and our network includes 50 dealers in Ukraine.

The founder and owner, Mr. John Hynansky, is of Ukrainian descent and built a significant automotive enterprise in the U.S. from the ground up. Soon after Ukrainian independence, while at Wimbledon as a guest of Ford Motor Co., the discussion came up with Ford executives regarding representation in Ukraine.

It was an intriguing idea for Mr. Hynansky, to venture into the land of his roots and try to build an honest business.

Ukraine is a country of tremendous potential and there is ample headroom in almost all spaces if you wish to develop a truly customer-oriented business. Some investors complain about the risks, but Ukraine also offers commensurate returns. It will not be easy, but executed correctly, it will be rewarding.

One of the best things about being in Ukraine is growing our business transparently and openly, in spite of those who claim it can’t be done.  Additionally, being here and watching Ukraine continuing its journey to realizing its full potential is tremendously rewarding.

We started the business shortly after Ukraine’s independence and chose the market because of its growth potential, as it was a market of 45 million consumers transitioning to capitalism.

After 25 years on the market, my advice for those considering Ukraine as a business destination is to follow the best practices you would for any business planning; do your homework before spending money; choose good partners; find a good lawyer; be flexible in your thinking & planning.

As for a favorite aspect of being in Ukraine, these are interesting times for the country and you will always find interesting people.

AgroGeneration S.A., France

AgroGeneration is a commodity crop farming company. We grow, store and trade grains and oil seeds.

CEO, American

AgroGeneration is commodity crop farming company with 120,000 hectares under management.  Our business is to grow, store and trade approximately 400,000 metric tons of grains and oil seeds every year.

Ukraine is a highly profitable and innovative farming country, with rich soils, and a highly educated, hard- working, yet inexpensive labor force.  Ukraine is perfectly located on the Black Sea to efficiently export anywhere in the world.

The commodity crop business is a 35-40% EBITDA business.  It is the most profitable in the world for many reasons, including the scale and logistics in which farming is conducted.

One of my favorite things about being in Ukraine is the great people here.  They are smart, hardworking and innovative, with strong ambitions for the future.

We would like to invite you and your company to be featured on UkraineInvest's web site as a "success story" of a foreign business operating in Ukraine.
