Ukraine retail sales volumes increase by 7.4% in the first quarter of 2019.

Ukrainian retail sales rose by 7.4% in the first three months of 2019 as consumer confidence continued to climb fueled by rising salaries and a third consecutive year of economic growth. The largest increases in retail sales volumes were registered in Kyiv and Vinnytsia (both at 11.7%), followed by Lviv (9.7%), Dnipropetrovsk (9.3%), Odesa (9.2%) and Kharkiv (9%). Ukraine’s retail sector has been experiencing steady growth since 2016, with an improving consumer climate helping to encourage additional investment in the retail real estate sector. Many of the country’s largest real estate deals of 2018 involved large retail and entertainment complexes located in Ukraine’s major cities.
