There can be no higher accolade than the recognition of your peers. It was therefore with great humility that UkraineInvest Chairman, Daniel Bilak, accepted the headline 2018 Thanksgiving Award bestowed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine on UkraineInvest for promoting Ukraine as an investment destination. Voted on by the Chamber’s more than 600 members, the Award is validation of UkraineInvest’s efforts to collaborate and partner with AmCham and other business associations to successfully resolve existing investor concerns and to address systemic issues to improve Ukraine’s business environment.
In accepting the Award, Daniel Bilak stated that “Working with the ACC and others, we have together unlocked over $700 million of new investment from existing investors alone, creating the success stories Ukraine needs to promote the country to new investors. We see that Ukraine has indeed turned the corner as an attractive investment destination, now competing head-to-head with countries in the CEE region for business.” He concluded, saying, “At this time of Thanksgiving, I am very grateful to my fantastic team, without whom none of this would be possible: Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Government Investment Commissioner Oksana Markarova for their stalwart and tireless support of our efforts; Western NIS Enterprise Fund; Jaroslawa Johnson; Lenna Koszarny; International Finance Corporation; the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine and Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine; and many other international and bilateral partner stakeholders, whose support and assistance is crucial to our achievements.
Above all, we are grateful for the cooperation and mutual respect we enjoy with the ACC’s Board and membership. We are committed to continue working with the Chamber to improve the business climate and to ensure the on-going success of its members’ business operations in Ukraine.”
It was an honour for UkraineInvest to share the evening’s festivities with the other award recipients, Office of the National Investment Council of Ukraine and Government Investment Commissioner and Acting Minister of Finance, Oksana Markarova. Our common objective remains to make all investors feel at home in Ukraine.
